Traditionally, parents are the ones in charge of taking care of their children. At the beginning of a child's life until he or she is able enough to take care of his or herself (usually at the legal age of 18), parents are there to provide primary care. This is quite contrary to the current trend.
Today, many
households need both parents to work for their families. Because of this, parents resulted to putting their children's temporary custody on paid childcare providers such as a day care centers and nannies. In case the parents of the children are already deceased, childcare is delegated on government
agencies and other non-profit organizations.
